SalarySalary & Benefits for Teaching in China

Salary starts at 4000RMB and rise to 85000RMB per month. Salary will depend hugely on your qualifications, experience, number of teaching hours and the location of your school as the cost of living can by much higher in bigger cities. Your salary is normally paid in local currency into your Chinese bank account. Your school will assist you in setting up your local bank account.


Overtime:

The Teacher will be reimbursed 60 RMB per teaching hour unless otherwise stated in your employment contract.


Contract Bonus & Airfare Reimbursement
For a 12 month contract there is usually a contract completion bonus of 6000RMB – 8000RMB depending on the school or university and 3000RMB – 4000RMB for a six month contract. The school will generally make this payment upon completion of your contract. All contracts will include the amount being reimbursed.

 

Accommodation
All our institutes provide FAO Government approved accommodation for foreigners. A single studio apartment or a shared apartment with other English teachers is provided free of charge for the duration of the contract. Accommodation is to a western standard, and will come with all the necessary appliances. For example: washing machine, cooker, fridge, oven, cooking utensils, furniture, TV, Internet. Utility bills such as electricity and gas have to be paid for by the teacher, but costs are relativity cheap.


Medical Cover
Emergency medical cover maybe provided by some schools free of charge and some schools will stretch to full medical cover, but we recommend you take out your own medical/travel insurance before departure.

 

Chinese New Year
Holidays
Most public schools and universities will have two months of vacation during the summer, generally unpaid but teachers will have their accommodation free of charge throughout this vacation time.
