TEFL Courses
In this section of our website you’ll find relevant information about TEFL courses. TEFL Courses are not required for teaching positions in China and South Korea. On the other hand TEFL courses regardless of their level of training are very beneficial to teachers. They can give teachers a good basis and understanding of what TEFL teaching involves and in particular it can give teachers the basics for developing lesson plans, managing classes and eliciting the best results out of their students.
Weekend TEFL courses are a great experience and very enjoyable. They are intended to be a foundation course and are prefect for university graduates planning on going overseas for a year or two teaching English as a foreign language.
Online courses give you the flexibility to study and learn in your spare time. CELTA courses are the measuring stick for TEFL courses. For anyone thinking of undertaking TEFL teaching/training as a career, we would highly recommend doing a CELTA course or equivalent.
Some courses that have less than 115/120 hours may have some accreditations but you should check if they are accepted in your home country by Education Board/Ministry before you invest in a TEFL course. Saying that, if you’re travelling overseas, a 20 hour, 40 hour, 60 hour, 100 hour weekend or an online course will help you learn the skills you need to undertake your first language classes with much more confidence and structure.
